War and peace in O’Connell Street

Skimming and scanning the ‘Observer’ today on the trip from Liverpool Central to Southport but  some bottom up skills were necessary on reading an article from Tim Adams “War and peace in O’Connell Street” and lo and behold Tim gives me some information on the sanctimonious, supercilious, self-righteous little twat that really left me thinking and Tony claims to have had “premonitions of John Smith’s death in 1994” and he “discovered much of his philosophy for foreign policy while watching Schindlers List“. Now regarding “our” self-ordained, hypocritical little war criminal’s premonitions, the least said the better. After all, this really is a man whose haverings are right up there with the dispensationalists when it comes to the End Times rather than in line with “his” newly adopted Catholic faith. On  Schindlers List, however, comment might be passed.

One particular scene in  Schindlers List sticks in my mind. It is where the Jews are being ejected from their homes in Krakow. This is where it began and we all know where it ended. The audacity and arrogance to go into someone else’s home and force them out of the place they have lived for most or all of their lives and somewhere down the railway line there were the death camps of Treblinka, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Soribor and elsewhere. Now, Mr Tony Blair, with the ethnic cleansing of Palestine continuing apace, with the slaughter of at least one million Iraqis, with the death of innocent men, women and children in Afghanistan, how did this film inform your foreign policy? For, while your premonitions remain gobbledegook nonsense, this really is a question which begs answering.

About sanculottist

There are a lot of poor bastards out there being used and abused; it is just not cricket "old bean". Something tells me that ignorance is not bliss, but is, in fact, simply ignorance and in the global village we cannot look the other way.
