Hague guarantees that Assange will not face the death penalty in the United States

The almost three months in England is coming to an end and ego is, once again, peeping over the parapets at the larger wide world after a stint of being otherwise inconvenienced and it would appear that the first peep of that larger wide world is, in actual fact, close to home. It is the idiosyncratic, hypocritical, characteristics of the British ruling elite that give food for thought and in today’s Guardian I get to read “Oor Wullie” assuring Ecuador “that Julian Assange has a double guarantee that he cannot face extradition from Sweden  from to the US if he were to face the death penalty or his human rights were to be breached,  which, of course, means if he faces the death penalty.
Well, to we get the picture now? This, of course, has nothing to do with rape charges in Sweden, but everything to do with getting Mr Assange to the United States where he will not face the death penalty, but rather a rather long prison sentence.  Time to put my head back behind the parapets. At least, until Friday, which is when I finish working here.

There are a lot of poor bastards out there being used and abused; it is just not cricket "old bean". Something tells me that ignorance is not bliss, but is, in fact, simply ignorance and in the global village we cannot look the other way.
