The media really does create a sad, delusional, world for us. A world where interest is generated by the news that a certain Kate Windsor, Nee Middleton, is expecting a baby, while babies are dying of hunger in Africa, the President of a country that is a law unto itself, warns another country, not to use chemical weapons, even if the said country has in all probability no intention of doing so.
It is a world where not only the truth is stood upon its head, but one where an absurd reasoning rules the day. Obama demands that Iran return the drone that was captured while spying over its territory, and can you imagine the outcry had an Iranian drone been captured over American air space? The list goes on and on; Netanyahu decides to use the Palestinian’s “audacity” to have their status upgraded to that of a “non-member observer state” at the United Nations as a pretext to come out and announce that Israel is building more illegal settlements on Palestinian land and to withhold tax revenues intended for the Palestinian Authority,
Yes, a mad, crazy world, where the United States condemns the M23 rebels who are reeking havoc in Eastern Congo but continues to shield Rwanda whose support those rebels are dependent on, a world where a group of rather shallow individuals known as “the Kardashians” are given publicity when they support the Kony 2012 campaign, which is active in the same region, even although it might be that the ‘Invisible Children’ organisation, which is behind the campaign is in fact funded by the American government, who would appear to be using the campaign as a ploy to gain support for American military intervention in Africa. Yes, absurd, absurd, and in the meantime the news is out that the lady with the biggest bum in the said Kardashian family has just been down to Bahrain to support a regime that is committing human rights abuses on a daily basis.
Yes, with Kim’s promoter actually denying that there were in fact any protests against Kim’s visit, which would mean that the protesters could not have been tear-gassed by the police, despite evidence to the contrary, the last paragraph just about sums it up and in a world of delusions, myopia, hypocrisy and lies, the “good” news is, we might be sure that Kate is pregnant, even if, in the real world, the world where protesters get beaten up, where drones kill children, where Zionists continue to ethnically cleanse Palestine, and Rwanda does a similar job in the Eastern Congo, we really couldn’t care less or, if we do, we just shouldn’t.
