British MPs vote against Syria air strikes

The good news is that my “it is all done and dusted” predictions might just not come true after all with it appearing that the British Prime Minister might just accept the fact that not only has his government lost a vote on an already diluted amendment to let loose his dogs of war, but that dozens of Tory MPs have voted with Labour.

Of course, with President Obama saying that he will “be guided by what is in the best interests of the United States,” and implying that, isolated as the United States will be, Washington will launch an attack anyway, we shouldn’t be too smug. Nevertheless,  with sanctimonious, hypercritical Britain out-of-the-way, that attack, backed by the Gulf States, Turkey, France and Israel, becomes just a bit more harder to justify, even by those who really have their heads buried in the sand. The Zionists going into action on the same side as the “wahhabis”, it is, indeed, a mad, mad, world.

About sanculottist

There are a lot of poor bastards out there being used and abused; it is just not cricket "old bean". Something tells me that ignorance is not bliss, but is, in fact, simply ignorance and in the global village we cannot look the other way.
