Returning to the issue of John Kerry’s “clear and compelling evidence” that the Damascus regime had ordered the recent chemical attacks, there is an interesting post on Craig Murray’s blog which comes to the conclusion that the American Secretary of State’s “evidence” is not only the “shabbiest of tricks”, a “trick” which will lead to countless more children being ripped apart by missiles made in the USA, but that it is also another example of the USA acting at the behest of Israel.
Mr Murray bases his thesis on his own experience as the head of the FCO Cyprus Section some twenty years ago. He argues that the GCHQ listening post on the island’s Mount Troodos is the only plausible place where intelligence on Syrian military and officials organising chemical weapons attacks could have been picked up. Yet, he tells us, the British Joint Intelligence Committee did not receive any such information.
Therefore, the question remains where did Kerry get this intelligence. According to Murray, his “own well placed source” in the Washington intelligence community, has told him that the information was provided to the USA by Mossad, according to his “own well placed source” . Of course, Mr Murray might be a blatant liar. After all, would Mossad really fabricate information and more importantly would Mr Kerry use it unsuspectingly? Well, the answer to the first question is, yes they would, and the answer to the second is, it is very probable that Washington knows that this information has been fabricated.
