The political circus takes to the road and the “big” question is whether Britain should leave the EU or not? However, when the quite inept Boris Johnson tells all and sundry that “after a huge amount of heartache” he is going to support the campaign to take Britain out of the EU, does anyone really care? Or, is Boris going to sway the British public to opt for the Brexit? Well, the mainstream media certainly seems to find his announcement today significant.
However, significant, or not, the actual “in-out” vote might be a close run thing and with Nicola Sturgeon saying that if the electorate in the UK as a whole votes to leave the European Union, while Scottish voters vote to stay in, another Scottish independence referendum would “almost certainly” be triggered, these are interesting times. Indeed, one almost hopes that Boris’s desired Brexit becomes a reality and hallelujah around about this time next year we could have an independent Scotland inside the EU and a rump UK losing its last delusions of grandeur.
