Christopher Davidson’s ‘Shadow Wars’ is an “utterly compelling, systematic dissection of Western interference in the Middle East” and what makes it especially so is the author’s ability to show the historical continuity of a meddling which has invariably relied on collusion with radical Islam.
Nothing new, therefore, in the Middle East and when we look past the propaganda and try to understand what is really happening in Aleppo, Mosul, Yemen, Libya, and elsewhere, Brian Becker’s contention that the US “has injected large amounts of funds and weapons into Syria, making the Daesh terrorist group grow stronger” appears to be a little bit more credible than the nonsense that is being spouted out by the mainstream media in the West. Of course, western hypocrisy and lies facilitate the death of millions. Therefore, it is impossible to laugh at the manufacturers of consent’s daily drivel.
However, when we read that Saudi Arabia’s ambassador at the UN in Geneva, “has been elected as chair of a panel of independent experts on the UN Human Rights Council”, or of Boris Johnson defending arms sales to the KSA – arms which are being used every day to kill innocents in Yemen – it is time to realise that this hypocrisy and propaganda has always been spouted out to disguise the West’s meddling in the Middle East and its’ collusion with radical Islam.
